Thanks for your help and advice with respect to rebuilding my decades-old TEC Sterling I grill.  Your suggestions were right on the mark, allowing me to rebuild the grill from the inside-out, for far less cost than if I replaced it (unless I bought a much-lower-quality Char-Broil).  Also key was advising me on the natural gas vs. propane differences, as this showed me that my prior "installer" in my new home hadn't even adapted the grill as he said he did.

William thanks so much for all your help! Got my parts to rebuild my Sterling II grill today. I told William it was to hot in St. Louis to install the parts but I did it anyway.
